Harmony Rigging Test: A Rabbit called Hope by MOB

Posted on

So I’ve been looking to add some new work to my repertoire after a step away from the industry for a bit for personal reasons.

Lately, I have been teaching remotely at an art and animation college in Toronto, introducing the second-year animation students to Toon Boom Harmony software and Autodesk Maya software. Working with students is always an inspiration because their fearless creativity is so refreshing.

Recently I reached out to an artist on Instagram that I have loved to see if they would be interested in collaborating. Luckily this bright and positive individual, MOB, eas down for the adventure. So what I did was turn their adorable rabbit character into a Harmony rig and will be animating a couple of their past posts.

Rigging and technical work has always been my jam so this was incredibly fun and is also handy to have as an example to show my students. You will notice I love my master controllers also. Anything that can be done with one click rather than two or three!

Below I’ve linked to a quick video of the rig and the controllers and I’ve also included screenshots of the node view.

I think I’ll be doing a few more posts on rigging and other little tips and tricks. I find I’m answering similar questions with all my students and making videos to help them out so I think I might move some to here and youtube for regular reference.
